Award of Excellence in Visual Arts

Gilda received the Award of Excellence in Visual Arts from the Mayor of Ottawa, Mr. Jim Watson during the celebrations of Latin American Heritage Day in Ottawa, Canada on August 2013.

This award adds to the list of 30 prizes received for her work in oil, acrylics, mixed media and photography as well as the 3 awards she has received for her voluntary work and donations to help people, organizations and countries in need.

Latin Women Entrepreneurs Expo 2013

Forty Three Latin Women Entrepreneurs presented an Expo on May 25th. to show the businesses they are developing through various professional endeavors, which contribute to the economic development of the Latin community and to the Canadian community in general.

Ottawa Orchid Society Show 2013

Gilda was invited to participate in the Ottawa Orchid Society Show 2013. The theme of the show was "Orchids and People" so she presented original and unique pieces integrating the faces of her daughters into the flowers.

She was awarded the 2nd. place in the Digital Painting category with her piece "Silver Dream".

Exhibition "Finding the Extraordinary . . ."

During the month of April 2013 Gilda is presenting an exhibition of photographs at the Ottawa Public Library entitled "Finding the Extraordinary . . .".

These beautiful photographs were taken at the Beaver Pond Forest (South March Highlands) in Kanata, Ontario as a way to preserve these magnificent trees that are being destroyed by a company to build houses.
